Amir Zharif Abdullah is a seasoned legal and business professional with around 15 years of expertise in corporate structuring, operational management, strategic investments, and crisis management.
As Managing Partner at Zharif Nizamuddin, he oversees the firm’s corporate commercial, financial crimes & asset recovery, dispute resolution, conveyancing and private clients divisions, leading high-value transactions, regulatory compliance matters, and corporate restructuring efforts. His work includes representing government agencies such as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in anti-money laundering investigations related to 1MDB, as well as advising venture capital firms, private equity funds, and corporate clients on investment structuring and regulatory frameworks.
Zharif is also a Director at the Enervive Group of Companies, where he has led investment structures across renewable energy, real estate, and sports facilities management & consultancy, overseeing multi-million ringgit projects, including large-scale solar plants and sports complexes with strong financial returns.
Previously, Zharif began his career at Wong & Partners, a Member of Baker McKenzie International, where he gained crucial industry knowledge advising clients in diverse industries, including oil & gas, private healthcare facilities, currency exchange services, pharmaceuticals and distributive trade, before transitioning to Shell, where he advised on global corporate transactions from Malaysia and the company's headquarters in the Netherlands. His tenure at Shell also included active participation in the company’s Crisis Management Team, where he was trained in emergency response, corporate risk management, and crisis mitigation strategies.
